Cell phone jamming: Denial-of-service for the masses

Cue Bob Marley's "We're Jammin'": The New York post says that new unauthorized gadgets block cell phone calls in your immediate vicinity. "There are suspicions that some hotel chains employ jammers to cut down on guests' cellphone use and boost in-room phone charges." How do we detect these babies?
