David Temkin's Laszlo Systems leverages proprietary Flash player
Just as MySQL is thriving on top of Windows, other open source software is prospering on top of other proprietary platforms. Case in point: Laszlo, software for building rich Web applications. Laszlo may benefit greatly from the adoption of AJAX by taking some of AJAX's concepts even further. (I wonder if we'll ever see an open source substitute for the Flash player?) IT Conversations has a conversation I recorded last month with David Temkin of Laszlo Systems.
