Rechargeable batteries: Standards now!
Bravo to Tim Anderson for revving up the call for standard, interchangeable batteries on devices. Look, the number and variety of devices is growing exponentially. How crazy is it that the electrons fly between them in standardized ways (TCP/IP) but the electricity flowing into them arrives in so many different ways? Someone points out in Tim's comments that there are standard AA and AAA rechargeable batteries. But too many devices don't use them. This sounds like a job for petitiononline.com. I'd be willing to work with Tim or anyone else out there to wordsmith such a petition.
